Dear residents and local businesses,
Here is a roundup of what the Foleshill Neighbourhood team officers have been doing this week.
OUR Priorities
Our priorities are now business crime; this is an issue all over the north east and officers are proactively patrolling the affected areas. We have officers in plain clothes as well as in hi visibility uniform.
Officers are carrying out dedicated retail crime patrols and plain clothes operations to provide reassurance to shop keepers, deter anti-social behaviour and address concerns raised by the community. Alongside these the dedicated retail crime patrols are focusing on supporting local shops, tackling shop theft and working closely with shop staff to prevent repeat offences
IN OTHER NEWS
Officers have completed a community residents meeting in one of our tower blocks this week, officers worked with housing officers from Citazen and spoke to residents go listen and act on any issues they were having. this was a great opportunity for residents to discuss the issues that matter to them. Officers have taken these issues on board and will be working towards helping reduce these community priorities.
Officers have been busy patrolling in the north of the city and working hard to reduce crime and give reassurance to the public.
The Foleshill neighbourhood team, along with officers from our Road Harm Prevention team and traffic unit, conducted a Multi-Agency Road Safety Operation (MARSO) at Gallagher Retail Park A total of 36 drivers were dealt with for a number of traffic offences as part of the targeted operation Officers from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), Coventry Council, and taxi licencing were on hand to check the conditions of vehicles, issue fines, and assist officers with additional evidence. During the operation, 13 drivers were reported for a variety of offences such as illegal registration plates, tinted windows, no insurance and using a mobile phone while driving. 10 vehicles were seized for various reasons including no valid insurance, and no tax.
This was a great opportunity to work with partner agencies and to help make our local roads safer.
